Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking an experienced IT leader to manage the IT Project Management Office and oversee portfolio governance. You will coordinate IT projects, align them with strategic goals, and drive value across departments.

You will lead project teams, ensure adherence to standards, assess proposals, and mitigate risks while guiding a responsive, efficient PMO that supports city services and digital initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, MIS, BA or related field with 6 years progressive IT project management experience.
• 2 years supervisory experience on multiple projects.
• PMP certification within 6 months of appointment.
• Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
• CJIS background check clearance within first six months.

Responsibilities

• Manage the IT Project Management Office (PMO) under administrative direction.
• Oversee execution of IT portfolio project management and governance framework.
• Facilitate project intakes and ensure business cases meet standards.
• Execute IT projects through the PMO framework to deliver value.
• Define process improvements and manage project risks and issues.
• Lead project management teams and ensure goals align with org objectives.
• Supervise assigned staff and provide development and performance guidance.
