Job summary

Excellus BCBS is seeking an IT Platform Administrator to ensure availability and operation of critical applications. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain systems, drive self-service and automation, and perform audits for compliance.

The role involves collaboration with multiple departments and vendors to advocate for stakeholders’ needs. The ideal candidate has solid Databricks experience and a strong foundation in systems administration, cloud platforms, and ITIL practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, Analytics, or relevant field; or 3 years of related work experience.
• Basic knowledge of structured systems analysis and design with emphasis in systems administration, user support, project management, data integrity.
• Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL).
• Basic knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, AWS Redshift).
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Salesforce, Pega, GCP).
• Basic knowledge of monitoring tools, load balancers, and HA architectures.
• Basic knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident/Problem/Change/Service Level).
• Intermediate communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, troubleshoots, patches, and maintains enterprise software platforms for reliable systems.
• Monitors uptime, performance, backups, and recoverability per stakeholder specs.
• Triage, troubleshoot incidents; document root cause analyses and resolutions.
• Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to implement changes and improvements.
• Lead on-call rotation and participate in release documentation feedback.
• Mentor junior staff and stay currency with new technologies.
