Job summary

Excellus BCBS in New York is seeking a Manager of Data Platform Administration to lead the Data Platform Administration team in planning, designing, developing and maintaining data systems and analytics platforms such as Databricks, IBM Cognos, Power BI and SAS.

You will collaborate with users to understand their plans and translate them into reliable solutions, enforce standards, mentor staff, manage budgets, and ensure privacy and regulatory compliance across the data estate.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or relevant field (or six years’ alternative).
• Expertise in database design, development, testing, and maintenance for production-ready systems.
• Experience supervising or managing people or projects.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and control lifecycle activities from analysis to installation.
• Review projects with sponsors and users to clarify intent and alternatives.
• Estimate staffing, costs, and time; track progress with PM tools.
• Mentor Data Platform Administration professionals.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and corporate standards.
