Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop, and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.

IT Operations Engineer

The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for working with Ardelyx employees to ensure their Information Technology needs are met. This individual will contribute as a member of the IT Operations team, administering the company's cloud-based systems, multi-site infrastructure, network, and servers. They will collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams as an acting Technical Project Manager to support the implementation of new technology across departments including Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and G&A. Additionally, this role will serve as a bridge between the IT Infrastructure and IT Operations teams for global network, systems, and applications deployment and maintenance. The role also involves providing exceptional support to ensure high employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and support of IT Network and End User Services (EUS), focusing on network, system, and client connectivity to the IT infrastructure.
2. Partner with the IT Infrastructure team to deploy and maintain all IT infrastructure systems and services, both on-premises and cloud-based, including firewalls, switches, and servers.
3. Work with the IT Commercial team on the deployment and upkeep of Commercial Apps for end users.
4. Manage day-to-day operations and support activities for Ardelyx's global IT operations, site support, and end-user services, ensuring incidents and requests are addressed promptly within SLAs.
5. Serve as a primary and escalation contact for global executives and C-level support.
6. Coordinate critical business activities across offices in Fremont, Waltham, and Milwaukee, including vendor management to support operational needs.
7. Collaborate with HR, Facilities, and Commercial teams to onboard the Sales Force and support product launches.
8. Manage all IT hardware/software at the Fremont site, including video conference units, laptops, iPads, iPhones, printers, and accessories.
9. Work with external vendors and service providers on technical solutions to ensure operational excellence and business continuity.
10. Provide architectural guidance to improve security, scalability, reliability, and adaptability of the company's SaaS footprint.
11. Lead and mentor junior IT staff, fostering strong leadership presence across all organizational levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in biotech/pharmaceutical industries.
• Preferred Certifications: MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, A+, MCP.
• At least 5 years of experience as a systems engineer, operations engineer, or systems administrator in a corporate environment.
• Proven track record in leading Infrastructure, Operations, Support, and Service Desk teams in fast-paced settings, delivering high-end user experiences.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with solid knowledge of modern technologies, especially in biotech.
• Knowledge of regulatory environments such as GxP, GmP, and supporting SOX audits is a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to adapt to the company's transition from R&D to commercialization.
