We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team in Naperville, IL. This role offers a hybrid remote work arrangement and plays a critical role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Linux systems and AWS-based environments.
What You Will Do
As an IT Operations Engineer at ampliFI, you will support day-to-day system operations, monitor infrastructure performance, and ensure stability across both on-premise and cloud environments. You’ll bring strong Linux expertise, a working knowledge of core AWS services, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and maintenance. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure uptime, performance, and reliability.
How You Will Contribute
The Expertise You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Around 3 years of experience in IT operations or systems administration
Solid experience working with Linux systems, including command-line usage, file system operations, and system-level troubleshooting
Practical experience with core AWS services, especially EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch
Familiarity with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution
Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage tasks and priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to infrastructure health and reliability
Additional (Bonus) Skills
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and operational support of deployments
Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (CloudWatch or similar)
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate)

What We Offer
The compensation range listed below represents the potential salary for this role at the time of posting. However, the final salary may be higher or lower than the stated range, and this range may be adjusted in the future. An employee’s placement within the salary range will depend on various factors, including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the needs of the business or organization. The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000/year.
