Job description

• Lead the technical team responsible for operating, configuring, and extending the organization’s Workday platform
• Directly manage, coach, and develop Workday Operations Engineers and Developers
• Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and workload/capacity planning
• Establish goals, priorities, and accountability structures for technical staff
• Build team culture and enforce documentation, change control, testing, and release hygiene
• Serve as primary technical partner to HRIS and Accounting/Finance teams
• Translate functional requirements into prioritized and resourced technical work
• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding timelines, platform constraints, and trade-offs
• Facilitate intake, prioritization, and release-planning governance forums
• Represent the Workday platform team in IT leadership discussions
• Oversee incident management, change management, integration support, and release/upgrade coordination
• Ensure reliable, secure, and well-governed platform services
• Partner with security, data governance, and other IT functions
• Drive improvements to team processes, delivery practices, and platform reliability
• Monitor and report on team performance, platform health, and stakeholder satisfaction

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years leading technical teams, including direct hiring, coaching, and performance management responsibility
• Experience managing relationships with non-technical business stakeholders who own functional requirements
• Working understanding of SaaS platform delivery models, including vendor release cycles, configuration versus customization, integration patterns, and tenant/environment management
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
• Experience running or overseeing incident management, change management, and release coordination for a business-critical platform
• Strong communication skills with technical and business stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Direct Workday platform experience preferred
• Experience partnering with HRIS and/or Finance/Accounting functions preferred
• Familiarity with ITSM tooling such as ServiceNow and IT service management practices preferred
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or Workday-specific credentials preferred
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
