Job summary

The University of North Carolina seeks a Data Integrations leader to guide the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise‑level integrations and APIs. You will ensure secure, scalable data exchange between campus ERP, CRM, and third‑party systems while promoting code standards and automated testing across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 4+ years in integration/IT roles.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in integration architecture, software development, or IT management.
• Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent iPaaS solutions.
• Strong background in ERP/CRM systems (Ellucian Banner, Salesforce).
• Proficiency in database tech (Oracle PL/SQL) and API modeling languages (RAML, OpenAPI, Swagger).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Git, Maven, Jenkins, CI/CD).
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building experience.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-department collaboration.

Primary Purpose of Department

The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools, and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative, and service goals.

Primary Purpose of Position

This position provides leadership and strategic direction for the Data Integrations team, overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level system integrations and APIs. The position ensures reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange between campus ERP , CRM , and third-party systems, while fostering a culture of code standardization and process optimization to support the University’s administrative and academic goals.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of integration developers, overseeing professional development, performance management, and daily operational tasks.
• Design, architect, and manage the lifecycle of enterprise-level system integrations and APIs, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
• Drive the adoption of integration best practices, including API -led connectivity, code standardization, and robust documentation standards across the team.
• Partner with campus stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into sustainable, automated technical solutions that support academic and administrative goals.
• Oversee change management, version control, and automated testing strategies to ensure the reliability and security of integration environments.
• Manage the integration landscape across diverse systems, including ERPs, CRMs, and document management platforms, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
• Proactively plan for technology upgrades, capacity management, and infrastructure maintenance to support long-term enterprise scalability.

Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Advanced degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in integration architecture, software development, or IT management.
• Proven expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent iPaaS solutions, including API -led connectivity and API lifecycle management.
• Strong background in enterprise ERP and CRM systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, Salesforce).
• Proficiency in database architecture (Oracle PL/ SQL , SQL ), API modeling languages ( RAML , OpenAPI, Swagger), and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Git, Maven, Jenkins, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines).
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, team building, and professional development of technical staff.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage cross-departmental relationships and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
