Job summary

Village of Northbrook's IT Intern will assist the IT department with imaging and deploying computers, upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and assisting with Office 365 upgrades. You will troubleshoot issues and support service desk tickets across Village departments, gaining exposure to cybersecurity projects and public safety systems.

Ideal candidates are in their final year of undergraduate studies or graduate school in a technology-related program, with strong communication and detail

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates are in the last year of undergraduate studies or graduate school in a technology-related program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Some experience with computer hardware, software, and setting up new devices.
• Experience with Windows 11 and Office 365 upgrades is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service Desk Support: assist in resolving incidents and provide updates in tickets.
• Assist with Device Imaging: image desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones for deployment.
• Assist with Office 365 upgrades and software installations as needed.
• Collaborate with Village departments and staff at all levels.
• Create or update IT-related documentation.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives and review security logs as appropriate.
