Job summary

San Francisco Conservatory of Music is seeking an IT Support Engineer to maintain and improve the school's technology infrastructure, ensuring reliable IT operations across academic and administrative functions. You will troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, manage server health, and support modernization initiatives.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, experience in IT infrastructure, and proficiency with Azure AD (Entra ID), SSO, MFA, and MDM solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions such as JAMF and Intune.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues across servers, systems, and networks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute infrastructure modernization tasks to consolidate overlapping systems, migrate legacy platforms, and automate manual processes.
• Administer and enhance identity and access management systems, including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), SSO, and MFA to support business and academic operations.
• Monitor and maintain server health (Windows Server, Hyper-V), performing routine patches, updates, and hardware maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Perform hands-on hardware and software lifecycle management, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of workstations and peripherals.
• Provide Tier 2/3 Helpdesk support and route issues appropriately to other teams.
• Maintain comprehensive technical and end-user documentation for all systems and processes.
• Perform other IT-related duties as assigned
