Job summary

NorthStar Energy is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead a team responsible for the reliability, security, and uptime of our technology stack in Seattle. The role focuses on building robust infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity, and driving IT services for end-users.

The position requires extensive experience in infrastructure management, security governance, and cross-functional collaboration to align IT initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 15+ years of IT leadership experience.
  • Proven track record with cybersecurity strategies, infrastructure management, and IT support processes
  • Experience implementing and managing a cybersecurity and business continuity program
  • Experience with security & compliance frameworks such as PCI, SOX, NIST, CMMC, OWASP
  • Managing a diverse team of remote, technical personnel
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting while prioritizing and planning effectively

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Support Services: Ensuring the IT support team provides timely and effective assistance to end-users
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring the performance of IT processes, systems and infrastructure
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
  • Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect the organization’s data and IT systems from cyber threats
  • Project Management: Planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensuring all IT operations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of IT failures or disasters
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers

The IT Infrastructure Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and uptime of NorthStar’s technology systems.

As a hands-on technical expert, you’ll work to establish infrastructure, support, security processes and best practices. The position also provides guidance and drives the growth of cybersecurity across the company and its subsidiaries.

This is an onsite position in our Seattle office and will require occasional travel to our field locations.

Essential Functions:
  • Team Management
    • Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
    • Fostering an enjoyable, respectful, collaborative and productive work environment
  • Support Services
    • Ensuring the IT support team provides timely and effective assistance to end-users
    • Developing and implementing support processes and procedures to improve user satisfaction
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Monitoring the performance of IT processes, systems and infrastructure
    • Generating reports on customer satisfaction, project progress, regulatory compliance, incidents and system performance
  • IT Infrastructure Management
    • Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
    • Ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the IT infrastructure
  • Security Management
    • Implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect the organization’s data and IT systems from cyber threats
    • Conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Project Management
    • Planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
    • Coordinating with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensuring all IT operations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in technology and regulatory requirements
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
    • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of IT failures or disasters
    • Conducting regular tests and updates of disaster recovery plans
  • Vendor and Contract Management
    • Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers
    • Negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services and products
  • Procurement and Expense Management
    • Track procurement and expenses ensuring accurate billing, allocation, and cost control
    • Identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising service quality

These functions ensure that the IT infrastructure supports the organization’s operations effectively and securely.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or related field with 15+ years’ experience
  • Proven track record with cybersecurity strategies, infrastructure management, and IT support processes
  • Experience implementing and managing a cybersecurity and business continuity program
  • Experience with security & compliance frameworks such as PCI, SOX, NIST, CMMC, OWASP
  • Managing a diverse team of remote, technical personnel
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting while prioritizing and planning effectively
