Job summary

Northrim Bank in Anchorage, AK seeks a Systems & Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and secure our enterprise IT infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You will lead efforts across networking, virtualization, and storage while driving modernization in a highly secure, reliable environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, governance, and continuous improvement with opportunities to mentor others and influence infrastructure decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may substitute.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
• 2+ years of leadership or technical team leadership experience preferred.
• CCNP and Azure certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and support hybrid infrastructure environments spanning Microsoft Azure and on-premises systems.
• Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives with cloud-first strategies and automation.
• Develop technology standards and best practices to strengthen performance, scalability and security.
• Engineer and support enterprise network environments including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and security platforms.
• Administer enterprise storage, backup, replication, and recovery solutions.

We're looking for a Systems & Network Infrastructure Engineer to help drive the evolution of our technology environment. In this role, you'll serve as a senior technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing the infrastructure that powers our organization. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies across cloud, virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, storage, and disaster recovery while collaborating with talented teammates who value innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

Design the Future

• Architect and support hybrid infrastructure environments spanning Microsoft Azure and on-premises systems.
• Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives utilizing cloud-first strategies and automation.
• Develop technology standards and best practices that strengthen performance, scalability, and security.

Build and Maintain Critical Infrastructure

• Engineer and support enterprise network environments including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, proxy servers, intrusion prevention systems, encryption devices, and WAN optimization technologies.
• Manage and maintain Fortinet and Cisco network and security platforms.
• Administer enterprise storage, backup, replication, and recovery solutions.
• Support virtualization platforms and server infrastructure.

Protect the Organization

• Drive vulnerability management, system hardening, and security initiatives.
• Ensure systems remain current through effective patch management and proactive monitoring.
• Maintain and enhance disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Support compliance and security requirements across the organization.

Optimize and Improve

• Monitor infrastructure health and performance across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IP addressing, and VLAN architecture.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and network topology maps.
• Support service delivery standards and help resolve complex technical issues.

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent experience may substitute for education requirements.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
• 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or technical team leadership experience preferred.

Certifications

Preferred certifications include:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Microsoft Azure certifications
