InterDigital, Inc. is seeking an IT Infrastructure Intern to join our Hybrid Infrastructure team in Conshohocken, PA. The role focuses on hands-on experience across on-premises, cloud, and automation technologies, with an emphasis on AI-driven process improvements.

The internship runs for an initial three-month term starting January 2027, with potential to extend. Expect three days per week on-site on a hybrid schedule; contribute to monitoring, automation, and documentation while learning

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Foundational hands-on IT experience gained through a prior internship or job, coursework, labs, or projects.
• Hands-on exposure to Windows or Linux administration, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, scripting, or automation.
• Basic understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts and how systems, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud services work together.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset with ability to research issues and learn from results.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies.
• Interest in infrastructure, cloud computing, automation, and the practical use of AI to improve IT operations.
• Good communication, documentation, collaboration, and follow-through skills

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Infrastructure Support: assist with admin, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hybrid infrastructure including Nutanix AHV, Cohesity, AWS and Azure.
• Cloud Operations: support routine AWS/Azure activities, resource management, monitoring, and basic governance and cost-awareness.
• AI, Automation & IaC: identify processes to improve via AI, scripting, and automation; develop, test, document solutions (PowerShell, Python, Terraform).
• Identity & Access Management: assist with RBAC, permission reviews, policy governance and least privilege.
• Research & Documentation: study technologies, document findings, create procedures and runbooks; explore AI-assisted docs.
• Infrastructure lifecycle: participate in maintenance, upgrades, backups, monitoring, and project work as prioritized.
