Insight Global is hiring a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support an international electronics company from Columbia, MD with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). You will maintain and optimize the Americas Data Center Network and provide follow-the-sun support to global IT infrastructure.

The role requires 3–5 years of 24/7 production infra experience and 5–7 years of hands-on networking with Cisco/Arista/Aruba gear, plus ITIL and ServiceNow.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of 24/7 operational experience working on production infrastructure (on-call support).
• 5-7 years hands-on experience administering and architecting networking technologies (LAN/WAN, VRF, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, HSRP, LACP).
• Experience managing Ansible Playbooks to automate network configurations and deployments.
• Working knowledge of IPAM, Python scripting and Linux OS.
• Experience creating SOPs and architecture documents.
• ITIL certification and ITSM experience (ServiceNow).

Responsabilités

• Maintain network and network security infrastructure.
• Provide lifecycle and project-based support for client infrastructure.
• Participate in 24/7 follow-the-sun model with regional teams to support global IT infrastructure.
• Create and maintain SOPs, architecture diagrams, and reference standards.
• Automate regular operational activities and transition to Level 1 support where appropriate.
• Maintain infrastructure to meet agreed OLAs on availability and performance.
• Follow ITSM standards for incidents, problems, requests, and changes.
• Assess technology and service risk within Americas Infrastructure and implement improvements.
• Work independently and in teams to achieve business objectives.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support an international electronics company. This role would sit in Columbia, MD with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). This role will be supporting and maintaining the Americas Data Center Network Infrastructure while providing follow-the-sun support to the customer’s global IT infrastructure.

• Maintaining Network & Network Security Infrastructure
• Provide complete operational life-cycle and project based support client infrastructure
• Participate in 24/7 follow-the-sun operating model along with EMEA and Asian region teams to support client infrastructure
• Create and maintain SOPs, reference standards, architecture diagrams and other supporting documents as required
• Continue to identify and implement regular operational activities that can be automated and or transitioned to Level 1 support after adequate documentation and knowledge transfer for swift issue resolution and better customer experience
• As part of a larger team, maintain infrastructure that meets and beats the established OLAs on both availability and performance
• Follow client’s established ITSM standards while resolving incidents, problems & service requests and while making changes to Infrastructure
• Continuously assess the technology and service risk within Americas Infrastructure and make improvements to mitigate those risks
• Work independently, within a team environment to achieve business objectives
• Minimum Domestic and International travel would be required

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar; or equivalent years of experience
• 3-5 years of 24/7 operational experience working on production infrastructure (on-call support)
• 5-7 years of hands on experience administering and architecting the following technologieso Switching and Routing (LAN and WAN) protocols (VRF, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, HSRP, LACP etc.)o Network switches and routers - Cisco / Aristao Aruba Edge Connect/ Silverpeak -SDWAN solution(s)o Wireless
• Experience managing Ansible playbooks to automate Network configurations and deployments
• Working knowledge of:o IP Address Management (IPAM)o GITo Python Scripting and Linux OS
