Job description

We are looking for someone who:

Examples of the duties:

  • Respond to and resolve end-user requests for technical assistance via phone, email, Teams, or ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues, including hardware, software, applications, systems, and network connectivity problems.
  • Utilize internal knowledge bases, product documentation and the web to research and implement solutions.
  • Guide users through troubleshooting steps, providing clear instructions for problem resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT staff while ensuring proper documentation and communication.
  • Support software installations, device setups, system configurations, and password resets.
  • Document all reported incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system.
  • Create training materials and SOP’s to increase efficiency and promote self-help.
  • Educate users on best practices to prevent future technical issues and provide documentation when needed.

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused IT Help Desk Support Specialist to respond to technical assistance requests from end users via phone, email, Teams, or a ticketing system. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving basic computer, application, operating system, device, and server issues while maintaining high service levels and documentation standards. The IT Help Desk Support Specialist will work within established processes to track and resolve reported problems, escalate complex issues, and provide user guidance to prevent future technical difficulties.

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, common software applications, and basic networking principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions in non-technical terms.
  • Ability to work within established IT processes and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Skilled at prioritizing help based on severity and needs of individuals or groups.
  • Can work independently but also work effectively with a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Previous experience in accounting-based applications and environments is a plus.

Other things we think you should know about the position

  • Location – on-site or hybrid in our Willmar, MN office
  • Hours are normally Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST with occasional evening or weekend coverage.
