Job summary

Kingsborough Community College, part of The City University of New York, is seeking an IT Assistant to provide first-line desktop and user support to the campus community.

You will assist faculty, staff, and students with routine technology questions, help with setup and basic troubleshooting of computing equipment, document issues, and escalate complex problems to higher IT staff. This is an entry-level position requiring strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in a computer/tech position.
• Associate’s degree with 1 year of experience in a computer/tech position.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6 months of experience in a computer/tech position.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Level 3 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for faculty, staff, students, and offices.
• Respond to service requests by phone, email, remote support tools, walk-in, or in-person visits.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and account issues; escalate as needed.
• Maintain records of work, equipment, and asset status.
