Job summary

Smith in Houston is seeking DCS Specialists to support inbound and outbound Operations processes, following prescribed procedures for receiving, inspecting, testing, cataloging, labeling, packaging, and moving IT hardware. You will also stage and process purchase orders, maintain data security by erasing data and restoring factory settings, and provide regular status updates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years assembling, inspecting, and testing IT hardware (Dell/HP/Cisco).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail and high quality standards.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Strong teamwork and reliability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Stage, organize, and process purchase order materials.
• Inspect, test, and catalogue electronic hardware (servers, workstations, network gear, components).
• Erase data from storage devices and reset to factory specs on inbound products.
• Provide updates on purchase orders and in-process status.
• Assist team in meeting project deadlines and provide status updates to Operations.
• Adhere to ESD requirements and safety, quality, and recycling processes.
• Assist Operations and other departments as needed.
