Job summary

Hearst Technology is seeking an IT Finance Manager to guide financial planning, analysis, and vendor management for the technology organization. You will drive financial transparency, governance, and accountability across IT initiatives and capital projects, collaborating with IT leaders and the Vendor Management team.

You will oversee monthly reporting, forecasts, and variance analyses, while optimizing budgets, ROI, and automation of financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and vendor/contract management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, capital project planning, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Apptio, Oracle ERP, and SmartView is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly P&L, G&A, and financial reports to IT senior leadership.
• Prepare and present forecasts and variance analyses for operating and capital expenditures.
• Monitor IT budgets and reconcile discrepancies; recommend corrective actions.
• Perform ROI and cost-benefit analyses for technology projects.
• Oversee end-to-end financial lifecycle of capital projects and ensure invoicing accuracy.
• Partner with Vendor Management to process renewals, maintenance orders, and vendor payments.
• Identify automation opportunities for procurement, invoicing, and reporting processes.
• Translate financial concepts to IT stakeholders and support ad hoc reporting.
