Job summary

Oceaneering is offering an IT Finance internship in Houston, designed for a college student pursuing finance, accounting, information technology, economics, or engineering. The role provides hands-on exposure to financial analysis, procurement support, and KPI tracking within the Office of the CITO.

You will work under IT Finance leadership to support project spending, supplier reviews, and reporting, while developing practical skills in data analysis and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with analytics tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial data entry, transaction recording, and IT-related financial records maintenance.
• Perform variance, trend, and ratio analyses to evaluate IT financial performance.
• Compare project actuals with approved plans and monitor spending rates; flag variances for review.
• Prepare and reconcile project purchase orders and expenses with project records.
• Assist with purchasing requisitions for IT goods/services and track approvals.
