Job summary

Oceaneering seeks a Cybersecurity Intern to join our IT OT security team in a hybrid role, combining virtual and in-office work. You will monitor systems, review configurations, and assess threats to protect our offshore energy-focused infrastructure.

You’ll gain real-world experience through mentor-guided projects, addressing vulnerabilities, conducting tests, and documenting detections to mitigate future incidents. This paid internship runs during the summer.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student pursuing a degree associated with Cybersecurity.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and IT security applications/tools.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• No relocation or housing assistance is being offered.
• Interested in work experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
• Experience in information security or related field.
• Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
• Understanding of firewalls, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts.
• Ability to research and identify solution vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.

Responsibilities

• Document security configurations, events and assess the damage or risk they cause.
• Work with the OT Cyber security team to perform tests and uncover system vulnerabilities and help document
• Request adjustments to detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
• Stay current on Information Technology (IT) and OT security trends and news.
• Assist in developing company-wide best practices for IT security.
• Perform penetration testing and Vulnerability scanning.
• Help colleagues review security software and understand information security management.
