Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a hands-on Network Field Technician/Engineer to operate onsite in Longmont, CO. The role involves traveling to oil & gas field sites to diagnose and fix network connectivity issues, including switches, Wi‑Fi, cabling, IP/VLAN/DHCP/DNS, cellular, radio/microwave, and satellite links.

The position is a 6‑month contract to hire, with on-site work five days a week and some near-city travel.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT professional with stronger networking skills than desktop support.
• Experience working onsite in oil & gas or similar industrial environments.
• Willingness to travel to field sites around the area.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot networks including switches, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet/fiber, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and connectivity.
• Support field communications including radio, microwave, cellular, and satellite connections.
• Maintain onsite IT infrastructure such as network equipment, racks, UPS systems, servers, and cabling.
• Provide hands-on IT support for computers, printers, AV equipment, and other user technology.
• Respond to outages and new site installations, coordinating with internal teams and vendors.

Hours: standard, some on call roatation once converted to Full Time

Seeking a hands-on IT indivdual who is stronger in networking than traditional desktop support . This person will travel to oil & gas field sites around the area and troubleshoot network/connectivity problems involving switches, Wi-Fi, cabling/fiber, IP/VLAN/DHCP/DNS, cellular, radio/microwave, and satellite connections . The biggest thing the manager is looking for is someone who has worked onsite in oil & gas or a similar industrial environment.

Network Field Technician/Engineer who can independently go to a site, figure out why the technology or connectivity isn’t working, and get it back up and running.
