Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to lead the management and expansion of Linux endpoint services across a large enterprise environment. This individual will be responsible for bringing Linux laptops, desktops, and virtual desktop environments under centralized management, ensuring security compliance, standardized tooling, patching, and operational reliability.

The ideal candidate has deep Linux experience, strong Puppet expertise, and a track record of managing enterprise endpoints through automation, scripting, and configuration management. This role requires a highly independent engineer who can build and mature Linux management capabilities while partnering closely with Security, IT Operations, and Developer Productivity teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Linux endpoint management across enterprise laptops, desktops, and VDI environments.
• Deploy and maintain Puppet-based configuration management solutions.
• Implement and maintain FleetDM and endpoint management tooling.
• Standardize Linux device configurations, software deployment, and patch management.
• Develop automation using Python and Bash.
• Integrate systems and automate workflows using APIs.
• Implement CIS and NIST security benchmarks across Linux devices.
• Troubleshoot endpoint management, compliance, and deployment issues.
• Partner with Security and IT Operations teams to improve endpoint security posture.
• Monitor fleet health and develop operational metrics and reporting.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance when needed.
• Support users and internal teams during rollout and adoption of Linux management solutions.

• Experience supporting developer workstation environments.
• Experience managing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
• Exposure to Windows or macOS endpoint management environments.
• Experience working closely with Security, Platform Engineering, or Developer Productivity teams.
