HeyGen is seeking an IT Systems & Operations Owner to lead our IT infrastructure, security footprint, and workspace operations in the Bay Area. You will be the primary IT contact, balancing urgent unblock with long-term automation, and will later manage external contractors to support daily tasks.

You will own security, endpoint management, licensing, and office infrastructure across Palo Alto, San Francisco, or LA offices, driving cost optimization and architectural excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or similar high-ownership IT role.
• Experience configuring and managing EDR systems and implementing DLP policies.
• Experience acting as primary contact for vendors; manage external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Security & Endpoint Management: Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), strict access control during onboarding/offboarding.
• Tooling, Licensing & Next-Gen IT: SaaS access provisioning, AI workforce administration, license utilization optimization.
• Office Operations & Engineering Collaboration: maintain Bay Area office IT hardware and conference room media; guide onboarding infrastructure; deploy internal IT automation tools.

Position Summary

HeyGen is looking for a proactive, high-ownership IT Systems & Operations Owner to join our team in the Palo Alto, San Francisco or LA office.

In this role, you won't just close support tickets—you will own our IT infrastructure, security footprint, and physical workspace operations. You will act as the primary point of contact for all things IT, balancing immediate tactical unblocking with long-term strategic automation. As we scale, you will eventually manage external contractors to support day-to-day tasks, keeping your focus on architecture, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities

Security & Endpoint Management

• Data Protection: Implement and oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) frameworks to safeguard company and customer data.
• Endpoint Security: Manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tooling to monitor, detect, and mitigate workforce security threats.
• Access Control: Strictly execute technology onboarding and offboarding, ensuring zero-lag access revocation during departures.

Tooling, Licensing & Next-Gen IT

• SaaS Management: Provision, manage, and audit user access across our entire corporate software stack.
• AI Workforce Administration: Manage the deployment and compliance of "AI employees" and automated workflows integrated into our business.
• Cost Ownership: Act as a financial steward by auditing license utilization and identifying opportunities to optimize software spend.

Office Operations & Engineering Collaboration

• Workplace Infrastructure: Maintain physical office IT hardware, equipment, and conference room media setups in our Bay Area hubs.
• High-Leverage Support: Act as the strategic layer for employee onboarding infrastructure; guide teammates on setting up environments rather than troubleshooting basic helpdesk queries.
• Solution Implementation: Partner closely with our core engineering teams to test and deploy custom, internal IT automation tools.

Experience & Requirements

• Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar high-ownership IT role, preferably within a fast-scaling tech startup.
• Security Foundation: Proven experience configuring and managing EDR systems and implementing DLP policies.
• Vendor & Project Management: Experience acting as a primary point of contact for vendors, with the demonstrated ability to eventually manage external contractors or support teams.
• Location: Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or LA with the ability to work regularly from the office to manage hardware and conference room infrastructure.
• Bias for Action: You are obsessive about unblocking users quickly, prioritizing a seamless internal user experience.
• Automation Mindset: You look at every manual process and ask "How can we make this self-serve?"
• Resourcefulness: You know how to leverage internal software engineers to build solutions, while independently managing vendors and contractors.

Salary Range

$150,000 – 190,000 annually
