Piper Companies seeks an IT Engineer to join an innovative technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham area. This hybrid role requires 2 days onsite in RTP, NC, with hands-on support across networking, systems administration, and end-user support.

The successful candidate will support shared lab infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, manage infrastructure projects, and collaborate with engineering and operations to improve lab performance in a dynamic MSP-style environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an MSP, managed services, or highly diverse IT support environment.
• CCNA-level networking experience including routing, switching, TCP/IP, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and endpoints.
• Ability to wear multiple hats across networking, systems administration, and help desk.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain shared lab infrastructure, including network equipment and servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, systems, and end-user issues across a diverse tech environment.
• Manage IT infrastructure projects, deployments, upgrades, and day-to-day operations.

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Engineer for an innovative technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. The IT Engineer role is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite in the office in RTP, NC. The IT Engineer will support shared infrastructure within a dynamic lab environment, providing hands‑on support across networking, systems administration, and end-user support functions. An ideal candidate for the IT Engineer role is a versatile professional with experience in an MSP environment who is comfortable managing a wide variety of technologies and supporting both infrastructure and end users.

Responsibilities of the IT Engineer:

• Support and maintain shared lab infrastructure, including network equipment, servers, virtualization platforms, and endpoints.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, systems, and end-user issues across a diverse technology environment.
• Manage IT infrastructure projects, deployments, upgrades, and day‑to‑day operational support.
• Provide hands‑on help desk support and serve as a key technical resource for internal users.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement infrastructure improvements and enhance lab performance.

Qualifications of the IT Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience in an MSP, managed services, or highly diverse IT support environment.
• Strong networking knowledge with CCNA‑level experience in routing, switching, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and endpoint technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats across networking, systems administration, and help desk support.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Compensation for the IT Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $65,000 – $90,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
