Job summary

Koniag Tech in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Director of Information Technology to lead our internal IT strategy and operations during growth from acquisitions. You will own the technology roadmap, budget, service delivery, vendor relationships, and integration of acquired environments.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and requires balancing leadership with practical implementation while ensuring systems support clients effectively and securely.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems administration with leadership responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure, cloud environments, IAM, endpoints, and collaboration platforms.
• Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, licensing, and assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an internal IT roadmap aligned with growth and acquisitions.
• Own reliable, secure, and cost-effective internal IT operations including infrastructure and user support.
• Lead IT acquisition assessments and integration planning, including inventories, risks, and migration sequencing.
• Establish a target technology environment and execute phased migrations while maintaining business continuity.
• Contribute to technical assessments, troubleshooting, solution design, and critical implementations.
• Prioritize enabling employees and delivery teams by removing roadblocks and ensuring effective IT services.
• Manage IT budgets, vendors, licensing, assets, and service agreements.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership to define responsibilities for security controls and compliance.
• Establish documentation, change management, backup and recovery practices, and service performance metrics.
