• Ten years of increasingly technical work experience with substantial managerial responsibility.
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate business strategy into IT plans.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, methodologies, and resource management.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff and build cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee information systems and partner with senior management to shape IT strategy.
• Define and implement long-term architecture and AI-enabled projects with accountable planning.
• Evaluate software, services, platforms and develop innovative solutions with realistic timelines.
• Ensure IT security controls, regulatory compliance, and data privacy.
• Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Stay current on investment and technology trends; adopt emerging tech as needed.
• Represent IT to Stanford stakeholders and external vendors; liaise with university IT orgs.
• Develop and manage the annual IT operating budget.
• Mentor, recruit, and retain technical staff; build a capable leadership team.
