Job summary

SC Data Center, affiliated with Colony Brands, invites applications for an IT Developer Internship in Monroe, WI. The role runs June–December 2027 and involves assisting an agile team with data-processing system development and cloud/SOA tasks.

You will gain hands-on experience in DevOps, security, and RESTful APIs, while supporting coding from specifications and maintaining existing programs. Sponsorship is not provided for this position; on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math or related fields.
• GPA 2.80 or higher.
• Working knowledge of common programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, SQL).
• Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue).
• Experience developing/consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain existing programs and processes.
• Design, code, and test new programs and processes.
• Install and maintain both custom and purchased applications.
• Develop and support security policies to protect code, databases, and data files.

Job Description

The Developer Internship will begin in June and end in December of 2027.

What You’ll Do & Learn

As an IT Developer, you will be part of an agile team and will assist with research and fact-finding to develop and modify a data processing system. You will support the Systems and Programming team with writing and maintaining simpler application programs, generally coding from documented specifications. DevOps, Security and the cloud are an important part of what we do. Also, you will work on limited systems analysis work. In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining existing programs and processes
• Designing, coding, and testing new programs and processes
• Installing and maintaining both custom and purchased applications
• Developing, maintaining and supporting policies and procedures which are intended to protect designed computer programs, data bases and data files from unauthorized or accidental duplication, modification or destruction.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for highly driven students pursing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math or related fields with excellent communication skills, both oral and written form. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of common programming language. In addition, we are looking for:

• At least Junior Senior standing, recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher
• Coursework or hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and SQL; experience with COBOL or Python is a plus, and Java will also be considered.
• Coursework or experience with AWS cloud services, such as S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Glue.
• Coursework or experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Coursework or experience using Git and following version control best practices.
• Coursework or experience with CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.

This position is not eligible for remote work and would require you to work onsite at our headquarters in Monroe, WI for the duration of your internship.
