Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a senior leader to guide its data governance team, driving enterprise standards and the Data Marketplace initiative. You will lead cross-functional efforts across IT, data owners, and business stakeholders to transition from silos to certified data products.

Required are 5+ years in leadership, experience in governance, and ability to present concepts to diverse audiences; travel and HIPAA/compliance awareness are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline
• 5 years in a leadership / mentoring role
• 5 years of planning, implementing, maintaining and growing capabilities within relevant discipline
• 3 years of developing, communicating and presenting concepts to varying audience

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization by managing customer expectations, planning and meetings; translating customer expectations for staff and peers; representing Highmark with outside entities
• Prepare written procedures, policies, reports and correspondence; collaborate and negotiate with departments corporate wide
• Collaborate with customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify requirements, assess impacts, compare costs/benefits, and recommend solutions
• Manage Data Owners and Stewards across 18 domains; facilitate Shared Enterprise Data Governance Council to resolve cross-domain conflicts
• Identify issues and recommend solutions; create and present concepts to clients; implement recommendations and ensure client receives necessary assistance
• Liaise with clients to keep them informed; advise on options, risks, and impact on processes and priorities
• Ensure continuous improvement of processes and delivery of results; organize and coordinate cross-functional activities; encourage innovation; apply risk assessment; mitigate risks
• Provide leadership to respond to opportunities, new technologies, legislation; oversee analysis of issues; assess impact of strategic changes; manage activities within the unit; coordinate governance activities
• Optimize resource utilization; develop high-performance teams; respond to feedback; implement solutions aligned with strategic direction; stay updated on governance trends
• Staff management activities including skills assessment, personal development plans, performance reviews, and fostering collaboration with customers
• Departmental management tasks: budgeting, multi-site teams, compliance with SOX/DIACAP/PHPLC policies, metrics, short/long-term plans, vendor evaluations
• Other duties as assigned
