Job summary

Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) seeks regular full-time faculty in Information Technology to teach and develop curriculum at Main Campus. Salary is based on rank per the collective bargaining agreement, with a 10-month teaching schedule and fully in-person duties.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in IT/CS or related field, expert knowledge across multiple tech areas, and ability to teach traditional, remote, online and hybrid courses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science or a related technology field.
  • Must possess expert level knowledge in several technology fields such as networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, programming and web development.
  • Must demonstrate a variety of communication skills appropriate for teaching traditional courses, remote learning courses and hybrid courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop curriculum.
  • Create and deliver learning experiences that support students in achieving the learning outcomes outlined in the Master Course Syllabus.
  • Employ teaching methods to design and maintain an engaging and effective learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to promote growth and academic success.
  • Cultivate a classroom environment that reflects the college’s mission, values, and goals.
  • Participate in program and discipline activities related to curriculum development and implementation.
  • Contribute to program reviews and strategic planning by offering recommendations on curriculum, staffing, facilities, and equipment to support continuous improvement and future growth.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen expertise in the discipline, enhance instructional strategies, and remain informed about emerging trends in education.
  • Effectively integrate relevant educational technology tools into teaching.
  • Participate in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees, supporting institutional goals and initiatives.
  • Maintain weekly office hours as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Perform other related duties as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
