FHLB Des Moines is seeking a motivated student for a co-op in our Information Technology department, offering hands-on application development exposure while earning college credits. You will support, analyze, develop, test, and troubleshoot applications, gain experience with both in-house and vendor platforms, and collaborate across teams to implement technology solutions within a banking context.

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science, or a Master's in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong communication skills.

• MS SQL Server knowledge, including SSRS and/or SSIS.
• Interest in financial institutions and financial instruments.

Accountabilities: Key Responsibilities:

• Support, maintain, and enhance systems used throughout the Bank.
• Assist with application analysis, development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Provide technical support and assistance to IT team members.
• Gain hands-on experience working with both internally developed applications and vendor-supported platforms.
• Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of technology solutions.
• Develop knowledge of financial systems and banking technology environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and operational objectives.
• Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimization initiatives.

Requirements:

• Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or pursuing/completing a Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of agile/waterfall development practices.
• Java stack development knowledge.
• MS SQL Server knowledge, including SQL Server Reporting Services and/or SQL Server Integration Services.
• Interest in or understanding of financial institutions and financial instrument.
• Current students and candidates with a strong interest in application development and who are able to work full-time hours.

Compensation Range:

Hourly: $22.00 - $22.00 This compensation range represents the Bank’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
