Job summary

FHLB Des Moines is seeking a motivated student for a Co-Op position within our Information Technology department. You will support, maintain, and enhance systems used across the Bank, while gaining exposure to financial systems and banking technology processes.

Ideal candidates are working towards a Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (or a graduate student in a similar program), with strong communication skills, knowledge of Java stack, MS SQL Server, and experience with agile

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance systems used across the Bank.
• Assist with application analysis, development, and testing activities.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internally developed applications.
• Work with vendor-supported platforms to ensure optimal system performance and functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and system-related issues.
• Gain exposure to financial systems and banking technology processes.
• Collaborate with team members on technology initiatives and projects.

Accountabilities: Key Responsibilities:

• Support, maintain, and enhance systems used across the Bank.
• Assist with application analysis, development, and testing activities.

Requirements:

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or graduate student in masters of engineering/computer science program.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of agile/waterfall development practices.
• Java stack development knowledge.
• MS SQL Server knowledge, including SQL Server Reporting Services and/or SQL Server Integration Services.
• Interest in or understanding of financial institutions and financial instruments.
• Current students and candidates with a strong interest in application development and who are able to work full-time hours.

Compensation Range:

• Hourly: $22.00 - $22.00 This compensation range represents the Bank's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
