Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Summer 2027 Undergraduate IT Audit Intern to gain hands-on experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management, and governance across the organization. The program offers exposure to enterprise IT risk assessment and audit execution while developing diverse business and technology professionals.

Interns will work with IT Audit, Information Security, Privacy, and Risk Management teams to evaluate controls protecting assets and sensitive information,

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support IT audit, information security, data privacy, risk management, and governance activities across Highmark Health and its subsidiaries.
• Assist with evaluating technology and security risks and controls to ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to system implementation reviews, project management controls, and audit methodologies.
• Participate in IT assurance and advisory engagements and document audit results.
• Develop recommendations for process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Gain exposure to data privacy, cybersecurity governance, and enterprise IT risk assessment.
• Work in a regulated environment requiring adherence to privacy policies and information security guidelines.
