The IT Asset Management Analyst supports the organization’s hardware, software, licensing, purchasing, and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. This role combines asset reporting and analysis, purchasing and license administration, inventory management, and growing ServiceNow process ownership.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with data, and experienced with ServiceNow workflows, dashboards, approvals, service catalog guidance, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Asset and Inventory Management (25%)
- Conduct weekly stockroom inventory checks and reconcile asset counts.
- Track laptops, hardware, assigned assets, and inventory movements.
- Identify, investigate, and report inventory discrepancies.
- Help standardize and improve IT asset management procedures.
- Maintain accurate asset records throughout the asset lifecycle.
Reporting and Data Analysis (25%)
- Create weekly and monthly asset inventory reports.
- Produce software license utilization and compliance reports.
- Track assigned assets and maintain reporting accuracy.
- Support ServiceNow dashboards, reporting, and data analysis.
- Use Excel to analyze data, reconcile records, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Purchasing, Licensing, and Financial Reconciliation (50%)
- Log and track IT hardware, software, and service purchases.
- Manage software licensing records and support license compliance activities.
- Reconcile invoices against purchase orders and received items.
- Prepare purchasing and licensing approvals for management review.
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting purchases, renewals, and licensing decisions.
ServiceNow and ITSM Support
- Work within established ITSM processes and support continued ServiceNow platform stabilization.
- Assist with ServiceNow dashboards, reporting, approvals, and workflow management.
- Review Active Directory and ServiceNow records for completeness and accuracy.
- Help resolve incorrectly submitted requests and guide end users to the appropriate Service Catalog items.
- Support approval workflows and improve the end-user request experience.
Process Improvement and Documentation
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles, process documentation, and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve workflows.
- Help document and improve asset management, purchasing, licensing, and ITSM processes.
- Partner with the ServiceNow platform owner and IT stakeholders on process enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceNow, including ITSM workflows, approvals, reporting, dashboards, or Service Catalog processes.
- Experience supporting IT asset management, inventory management, purchasing, licensing, or related IT operations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, reconciliation, data analysis, and data validation.
- Experience documenting business or technical processes and creating knowledge base content.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively with end users, management, vendors, and internal IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SCCM.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune.
- Desktop support or end-user support experience.
- Familiarity with Active Directory.
- Experience improving ITSM, asset management, or service delivery processes.
