Qualifications

• Experience with IT asset management platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with CMDB, ITIL/ITSM principles, and software deployment tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage full IT asset lifecycle including procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, inventory, and disposal of hardware and software assets.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, licenses, maintenance contracts, and documentation.
• Administer and maintain CMDB per ITSM standards.
• Develop and improve asset management processes, tagging, audits, and lifecycle management.
• Support SAM activities including license tracking and optimization.
• Monitor compliance with vendor agreements, licensing, and policies.
• Conduct physical inventories and restocking of IT equipment.
• Prepare reports on inventory, end-of-life equipment, licenses, and compliance metrics.

Clarity Partners is seeking an IT Asset Management Analyst local to Chicago, IL. The IT Asset Management Analyst will support the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets, including procurement, inventory management, deployment, maintenance, compliance, and disposal. This position will also administer and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), support software asset management activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate asset tracking and effective technology investments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, inventory, and disposal of hardware and software assets.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT assets, software licenses, maintenance agreements, and related documentation.
• Administer and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy and alignment with IT Service Management (ITSM) standards.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve IT asset management processes, including asset tagging, inventory tracking, compliance audits, and lifecycle management.
• Support software asset management (SAM) activities, including software license tracking, compliance monitoring, and license optimization.
• Monitor compliance with vendor agreements, licensing requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and oversee physical inventories, including receiving, storing, tracking, restocking, and replenishing IT equipment.
• Develop and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to asset utilization, inventory, compliance, and overall asset management performance.
• Prepare reports regarding current inventory, end-of-life equipment, software license positions, compliance metrics, and future asset needs.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT operations, security, and other teams to align asset management activities with organizational objectives.
• Support vendor management activities, including contract administration, vendor performance monitoring, and procurement coordination.
• Assist with asset forecasting, budgeting, cost optimization, and technology refresh planning.
• Promote sustainable IT asset management practices, including responsible procurement, recycling, reuse, and disposal of technology assets.
• Respond to asset management requests from stakeholders and provide support for special projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT Asset Management, including experience managing hardware and software assets.
• Experience working with IT asset management platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or similar tools.
• Understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management principles and best practices.
• Experience working with or administering a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) principles preferred.
• Familiarity with software deployment and management technologies such as SCCM and PowerShell preferred.
• IT Asset Management certification, such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), preferred.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and interpret asset data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical asset management concepts to business stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
• Understanding of budgeting, cost optimization, vendor management, and other financial considerations related to IT asset management.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies, systems, and asset management processes in a fast-paced environment.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the IT Asset Management Analyst, the base salary pay range is $45,000-$48,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
