Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking an IT Application Development Intern to join our Information Technology Bureau. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting technology used in a law enforcement environment, including application development, testing, SharePoint migration, and project support.

The ideal candidate is a motivated student with strong writing and communication skills, a GPA of at least 2.5, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s level program.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team.
• Flexibility and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, maintenance, and enhancements of internal software applications.
• Support testing activities with automated and manual test cases.
• Participate in SharePoint migration projects and post-migration testing.
• Troubleshoot issues, document defects, and implement fixes and enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support deployments.
• Assist with project planning, task tracking, updates, and stakeholder coordination.
• Create and maintain technical docs, user guides, and testing procedures.
• Maintain organization of IT department work areas.
• Participate in Sheriff’s Office recruitment and community relations activities.
