Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking an IT Application Development Intern to join the Information Technology Bureau. You will gain hands-on experience developing internal software, supporting testing, and assisting with SharePoint migrations in a law enforcement environment.

The ideal candidate is a motivated student with strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's program in IT/CS or related field.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA and 18+ years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, maintenance, and enhancements of internal software applications under guidance.
• Support software testing by creating and executing test cases using testing frameworks.
• Participate in SharePoint migration projects and post-migration testing.
• Troubleshoot issues, document defects, and assist with fixes.
• Gather requirements, document solutions, and support deployments.
• Assist with project planning, tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and testing procedures.
• Maintain organization of IT department work areas.
• Participate in Sheriff's Office recruitment and community relations activities.
