Job summary

JCSD is seeking an IT Analyst to join its IT Team in California. You will perform professional analytical and technical support, participate in system implementation, and troubleshoot complex IT issues to improve reliability and performance across applications and districts.

Responsibilities include end-user support, security monitoring, network hardware deployment, SOP maintenance, and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, public or business administration, or a related field.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional experience supporting a comprehensive information technology program.

Responsibilities

• Under direction, performs professional analytical and technical support, system implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and related services for the District's information technology systems.
• Monitors system performance to ensure standards are met and responds to complex user support problems.
• Assists in the procurement, programming, and deployment of networking hardware to support operations and documentation of SOPs and network diagrams.
• Develops and maintains network security systems and procedures and monitors threats; performs backup and disaster recovery related activities.
• Administers a district-wide web-based helpdesk, providing advanced-level support for escalated tickets and ensuring SLA compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direction, performs professional analytical and technical support, system implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and related services for the District's information technology systems; monitors system performance to ensure performance and reliability standards are met; responds to complex user support problems; performs technical and complex tasks relative to information technology services and programs; additional duties may include:

• Responds to end-user technology service requests; creates and manages user accounts and permissions; updates content and implements enhancements for the District website; provides support for business software and systems.
• Monitors the District's security integrity related to internal databases, infrastructure, devices, and information systems; provides recommendations to minimize vulnerabilities; implements procedures for responding to security incidents.
• Assists in the procurement, programming, and deployment of District networking hardware to support business operations and SCADA environments; develops and maintains asset documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and network diagrams.
• Develops and maintains network security systems and procedures; monitors security threats such as viruses, malware, and spyware; takes immediate corrective action as needed.
• Configures, monitors, and diagnoses problems with backup and restore operations; participates in disaster recovery planning and operations.
• Administers District-wide web-based helpdesk to identify, isolate, and resolve information system problems; provides advanced-level support for escalated helpdesk tickets; audits completion of helpdesk tickets and ensures tickets are resolved in compliance with service level agreements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
