Job summary

BENJAMIN STEEL CO. is seeking an IT Administrator to maintain and enhance the company’s technology infrastructure across multiple Ohio locations. The role provides advanced technical support for end users and administers servers, networks, and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Tech/CS or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible IT experience supporting enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft 365, servers, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations preferred.
  • Experience with MDM, virtualization, backup solutions, and cybersecurity technologies favored.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices, peripherals, printers, and enterprise software.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain servers, storage, virtualization platforms, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, and network appliances.
  • Administer Active Directory and Microsoft server environments; manage user accounts and access rights.
  • Manage MDM platform, device enrollment, security policies, inventory, and lifecycle management.
  • Support and coordinate with vendors for IT initiatives and service requests.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation; participate in disaster recovery and backup planning.

IT Administrator

Reports To: Director of Information Technology


Position Summary

The IT Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the organization's technology infrastructure across multiple locations. This position provides advanced technical support for end users while administering servers, networks, communications systems, security solutions, and enterprise applications. The role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of all IT systems, supports business operations, and participates in strategic technology initiatives. Required travel up to 50% (throughout Ohio).


End User & Technical Support


  • Provide advanced technical support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices, peripherals, printers, and enterprise software.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network, and connectivity issues.

  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and other business software.

  • Create and maintain workstation images and assist with software packaging and deployment.

  • Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, barcode scanners, and other operational technologies.

  • Assist users with troubleshooting telecommunications, wireless connectivity, and mobile devices.


Systems & Network Administration


  • Configure, administer, and maintain servers, storage, virtualization platforms, network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network appliances.

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and system health while proactively identifying and resolving issues.

  • Administer user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access rights.

  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft server environments, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications.

  • Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, operating system patches, and software upgrades.


Communications & Mobile Device Management


  • Administer enterprise voice and communications systems across all company locations.

  • Coordinate with telecommunications vendors for support, upgrades, and service requests.

  • Manage the organization's Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, including device enrollment, security policies, inventory, and lifecycle management.

  • Support cellular devices, voice systems, and related communications technologies.


Security & Compliance


  • Maintain and support cybersecurity solutions including firewalls, antivirus/anti-malware software, VPN access, email protection, spam filtering, and endpoint security.

  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, security updates, and compliance initiatives.

  • Ensure software licensing compliance and maintain accurate licensing records.

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and maintain backup and recovery systems.


Asset & Infrastructure Management


  • Maintain IT asset inventories, purchasing records, software licensing, and hardware lifecycle documentation.

  • Utilize helpdesk and asset management systems to document incidents, requests, equipment, and resolutions.

  • Monitor system performance and recommend hardware, software, and infrastructure improvements.

  • Assist with budgeting and procurement of IT hardware and software.


Documentation & Continuous Improvement


  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, network diagrams, and system configurations.

  • Develop user documentation and participate in end-user training as needed.

  • Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and security.

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to support business technology initiatives.

  • Serve as a technical resource and provide backup support for other IT team members.

  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.


Education & Experience


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise IT environments.

  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, servers, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.

  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations preferred.

  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), virtualization, backup solutions, and cybersecurity technologies preferred.
