We are seeking an Account Manager – IT Professional Services to join our team, with a primary focus on selling IT consulting and Resident Engineer services in collaboration with technology OEMs and their sales teams.

Location: Remote (with travel as required ~30-50%)

The Account Manager will be responsible for selling IT professional services as part of integrated technology solutions and as standalone offerings to customers. This role requires someone with strong experience in IT services sales, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to position value-added professional services to both OEM partners and end customers.

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to OEMs, solution providers, and end customers by understanding their business needs and presenting tailored IT professional services solutions.
  • Drive sales of CMK Resources’ IT Residency Services, working alongside OEM product sales teams and channel partners.
  • Own the full sales cycle, including prospecting, solution presentation, and closing deals, for both bundled and standalone professional services.
  • Achieve and exceed annual bookings and margin goals for assigned accounts, with a focus on Cohesity as a primary client.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and OEM/solution provider sales teams to position Resident Engineers as a strategic resource for post-sale success.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM sales teams (e.g., Cohesity, Pure Storage) and channel partners.
  • Position CMK’s Residency Services as a value-added solution to enhance technology deployments and ongoing customer engagement.
  • Educate product account teams and solution providers on the value of IT professional services and how they support their customers’ success.

Client Engagement:

  • Identify opportunities for IT professional services within existing customer bases and new accounts.
  • Present tailored solutions that address customer challenges, including IT consulting, Resident Engineer services, and staff augmentation.
  • Manage the sales process, ensuring alignment with customer needs, timelines, and budgets.

Strategic Selling:

  • Drive standalone IT services sales by demonstrating value beyond tangible technology products.
  • Use creative, value-based selling techniques to differentiate CMK’s services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop proposals and negotiate contracts.

Goal Management:

  • Own annual booking and margin goals, ensuring alignment with OEM residency targets.
  • Provide regular updates and forecasts to leadership on sales pipeline and performance.

Key Qualifications:

Proven Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT professional services sales, ideally with a focus on consulting and Resident Engineer services.
  • Demonstrated success selling IT services through OEM and channel partners, as well as directly to customers.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with IT Residency Services, including their value proposition and distinction from staff augmentation.
  • Understanding of key OEM technologies (e.g., Pure Storage FlashArray, Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity Cloud Services).
  • Ability to sell value-based services and articulate the benefits of intangible solutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a longer sales cycle environment.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and influence OEM and channel partner sales teams.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Creativity in developing tailored solutions for customers and navigating complex sales cycles.
