Job summary

VTG Defense seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in Los Angeles, CA to monitor and maintain security on operational systems. The ISSO will implement security practices, review documentation, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure RMF compliance and robust cyber defense across multiple domains.

Requirements include active TS/SCI with Polygraph, DoD 8570 IAT-2 certification within 6 months, and strong communications.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• Education relevant to computer engineering, information security, information management, or computer science.
• Experience in information technology security, information systems security, information assurance engineering, and systems administration.
• Bachelor's degree + 2 years experience OR High School/GED + 6 years of experience OR Associate's degree + 4 years OR Master's degree + 0-2 years.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system stakeholders to enhance system security.
• Communicate effectively with security stakeholders.
• Create, revise, or review cybersecurity documentation.
• Proactively identify opportunities for increasing customer value and engagement.
• Act as a Data Transfer Agent between systems of varying security domains.
• Inventory, track, and control removable media and portable devices.
• Advise on RMF workflows and requirements (NIST SP 800-37).
• Review SIEM and RMF tools to advise on baselines and statuses.
• Advise on acceptable use and cybersecurity policy.
• Report and document security incidents and responses.
