Job summary

RAND Corporation in Pittsburgh is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to provide compliance oversight for A&A requirements. The role focuses on maintaining DoD/IC security programs, STIG adherence, and safeguarding classified systems. Onsite work is required with no remote option.

The candidate will implement SSPs, conduct weekly audits, and collaborate with ISSM and security leadership to sustain a robust security program for collateral and SAP environments.

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAM1 certification is required.
• Knowledge of DoD, DISA, ICDs and IC security regulations and STIGs.
• Experience with security processes and audit log analysis in classified environments.
• Technical background with software/web technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service mindset.
• Must pass a background check and be able to lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains RAND's security procedures for DoD/IC programs and SAP programs.
• Enforces corporate policies to support CI standards (ICD, JSIG, etc.).
• Ensures adherence to STIGs across applicable systems.
• Interfaces with clients to secure classified systems and data.
• Assists ISSM in establishing and improving the SCI/SAP IS Security Program.
• Prepares and sustains internal self-inspections and audits.
• Develops System Security Plans (SSP) and addendums for the facility.
• Performs ongoing audits and reports findings to ISSM.
