Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Albuquerque, NM, seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support RMF-based security for classified IS under NISPOM.

You will manage ATO, implement controls per NIST SP 800-53, and work with ISSM, IT staff, and program managers to maintain security posture and compliance.

Candidates should have 2–4 years in IT and TS clearance or eligibility, experience with STIGs, and hands-on security administration.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in IT with 2+ years in ISSO or equivalent for classified systems.
• Knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117, DAAG, and NIST 800-series publications.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain RMF lifecycle activities and prepare ATO packages.
• Implement and validate security controls per NIST SP 800-53 and STIGs.
• Monitor and analyze audit records; report incidents to ISSM.
• Collaborate with ISSM, FSO, IT staff, and program managers to maintain security posture.
