Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to oversee the classified information system security program at our Albuquerque facility.

The ISSM ensures compliance with NISPOM, DAAG, NIST SP 800-series, CNSSI directives, and related security requirements. The role coordinates with the facility FSO, IT staff, ISSPs, and ISSOs to manage RMF lifecycle, develop SSPs, and lead security programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered.
• Security+ certification
• Minimum 5–7 years of information system security experience, with at least 2 years in an ISSM/ISSO role for classified systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the classified information system security program at the facility in accordance with CFRs, DAAG, and NIST guidelines.
• Maintain relationships with DCSA ISSPs and respond to assessment findings.
• Develop, maintain, and submit SSPs and security packages for all classified systems.
• Manage RMF lifecycle for facility systems and ensure compliance with approved security plans.
• Lead RMF packages and timelines in eMASS for authorization and reauthorization.
• Supervise ISSOs and support staff performing NISP-related security functions.
• Conduct security control assessments and continuous monitoring of classified systems.
• Manage POA&Ms for classified systems and track findings to resolution.
• Coordinate incident response and reporting with FSO and government agencies.
• Deliver annual role-based training for facility users and admins.
