Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD invites candidates for Senior Engineer/Analyst roles in ISRT Scientific Applications. You will lead teams to develop algorithms, models, and deployable software for ISRT tasks, using signal processing, data fusion, and optimization techniques.

Requirements include a Doctorate in a technical field, proficiency in MATLAB/Python/C++/Java, and ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or other related field.
  • Skills and experience developing scientific and engineering applications in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java and in Linux environments.
  • Strong inter-personal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, support multiple, concurrent projects, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Willing and able to work a portion of the time in secure, closed areas and travel occasionally to government sites and contractor facilities (local and non-local).
  • Able to obtain a Top Secret /SCI level security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to teams developing algorithms, mathematical-physical models, software prototypes, and deployable software applications for ISRT applications.
  • Lead and contribute to teams developing new signal processing, image processing, multi-sensor data fusion, and multi-sensor resource optimization techniques.
  • Lead and contribute to teams developing modeling, simulation, and analytical methods and tools.
  • Lead and contribute to teams developing and analyzing new ISRT concepts and architectures.
  • Lead and contribute to field tests and experiments, including planning, execution, and data analysis.
  • Document and present your and the team’s results to project leads, sponsors, and technical workshops and conferences.
