Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Analyst for ISRT and BMC2 applications in Laurel, MD. You will develop and test mathematical models, simulate sensor data, and contribute to mission-level analyses to support national security objectives.

You will work in a collaborative environment applying Python, MATLAB, C++, and modern M&S tools, with opportunities to advance security-clearance and impact by shaping next-generation ISR

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field.
  • At least five years of Modeling and Simulation experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python or C++ in Linux.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with version control (Git/GitLab).
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mathematical/physics-based models and simulations.
  • Contribute to ISRT and BMC2 concepts and architectures.
  • Learn sensing systems and update models.
  • Implement multi-sensor data fusion and resource optimization in simulations.
  • Perform software-in-the-loop testing for field tests.
  • Document and present results to sponsors and decision makers.
