Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD seeks a senior leader for the Modeling and Analytics Section (KAT-01) of the ISR and Targeting and Applications Group. You will guide mission-level simulation, data fusion, and end-to-end kill-chain analysis to advance ISRT and BMC2 concepts.

Responsibilities include developing the section, recruiting and mentoring ~6+ staff across sites, and shaping strategy for Precision Strike missions with cross-APL impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or another related field.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in modeling, simulation and analysis, including significant lead role experience.
  • Proficiency using MATLAB, and/or Python for analysis on Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across the section's activities to ensure effective planning and execution.
  • Use mission level modeling and simulation tools to evaluate ISR&T and BMC2 concepts, sensor architectures, and kill chain performance.
  • Promote innovation and high standards in modeling & simulation products.
  • Supervise a hybrid team located at Laurel, MD and across Colorado.
  • Coach and mentor staff with performance feedback and career development.
