Job summary

Field Calibrations, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (ISO/IEC 17025 Technical Manager) to own the QMS, lead accreditation activities, and supervise the QA Specialist. This senior role reports to the COO and interfaces with the accreditation body.

You will drive CAPA, internal audits, and technician training, ensuring metrological accuracy and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 while enabling strategic quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years in ISO/IEC 17025 environment.
• 7+ years in quality management/QA in a calibration or measurement lab with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar.
• Experience as lead auditee or technical author during A2LA/ANAB assessment.
• Knowledge of ILAC-P14, GUM, and NIST calibration hierarchy.
• Demonstrated CAPA leadership with measurable closure metrics.
• Ability to operate with executive-level scope and drive systemic change.
• Excellent written audit responses and quality-manual drafting.

Responsibilities

• Own ISO/IEC 17025:2017 QMS from quality manual to work instructions.
• Chair management review meetings per standard schedule.
• Maintain risk-management framework per Clause 8.5 and update procedures.
• Lead accreditation interactions with A2LA/ANAB and annual assessments.
• Manage calibration-standards inventory, traceability to NIST, and certificate wording.
• Oversee CAPA program, root-cause analysis, and closure verification.
• Design and supervise internal audits; coach QA Specialist in audit techniques.
• Coordinate technician training and proficiency validation.
• Interface with SBA 8(a) process and supplier-quality audits.
