Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
• ISA Arborist Certification
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred (utility line clearance or tree trimming)
• Knowledge of tree identification
• Knowledge of computer applications and ability to learn new programs
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• GIS software/technology and Microsoft Office/iPhone experience
• Ability to work alone outdoors in various weather/terrain
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: review sites for endangered species, habitats and vegetation; organize records and maps; maintain documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal; conduct Tree Risk Assessments per ISA/ANSI standards; mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: use maps to identify boundaries; communicate plans to owners, agencies, and organizations; obtain permissions; provide professional customer service and foster community relations; recommend sustainable vegetation management using IVM principles.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; report safety concerns; follow safety protocols; operate vehicles and travel to sites.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
