Better Companies in Irvine, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to document financial performance, analyze data, and keep accounting records pristine. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will gain hands-on exposure to month-end close, treasury, and executive reporting.

This role supports budgets, KPI reporting, cash flow forecasting, and cross-department projects. We value a CPA-friendly mindset; 1–3 years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting.
• Strong Excel skills with complex formulas, lookups, and pivots.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries and maintain ledgers.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across treasury, revenue, AP/AR, payroll and other accounts.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting for executives.
• Support ad-hoc projects and cross-departmental financial requests.
