Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories in Irvine, CA is seeking a Production Chemist I to formulate products and intermediates, applying biologicals and chemicals to meet specifications.

You will manage bulk formulation of low to medium complexity, enter data in the ERP system, maintain GDP/GMP records, and plan lab tasks to meet deadlines while following SOPs. A life science degree and 0-3 years in manufacturing are typical for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field.
• 0-3 years in manufacturing/formulating products in biotech or life sciences.
• Ability to follow guidelines and handle hazardous materials safely.
• Ability to work in a product team and make decisions of limited scope, subject to review.
• Follow detailed procedures and have good documentation skills; GMP/Lab practices understood.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP is a plus.
• Microsoft Office tools: Excel and Word.
• Basic lab knowledge of environments, materials, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for bulk formulating products of low to medium complexity including intermediates in accordance with approved written procedures.
• Perform data entry and inventory control utilizing the ERP database.
• Responsible for completing production documentation and maintaining quality records to GDP/GMP standards.
• Coordinate, prioritize and plan lab tasks to meet strict deadlines.
• Follows controlled Standard Operation Procedures/documents.
• Monitors manufacturing processes and performs adjustments to meet required yields.
