NYC Administration for Children’s Services is hiring for a Child Protective Specialist Supervisor supporting the Instant Response Team. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
ACS’ Office of Investigations (INV) is made up of four main areas, including Investigative Consultants, the Instant Response Team Program, District Attorney Liaisons, and the Office of Safety First. INV works in conjuncture with the ACS Division of Child Protection (DCP) in efforts to ensure the safety of children in New York City (NYC). We achieve this goal by collaborating with outside entities, including law enforcement and other mandated reporters.
The Mission Of Instant Response Is To Improve Coordination Between The Administration For Children’s Services (ACS) And Law Enforcement In Order To Enhance The Protection Of Children In New York City. In Cases Involving Severe Abuse And Severe Maltreatment Personnel From ACS, The New York City Police Department (NYPD), And The District Attorney’s Offices (DA) Will Work Together On “Instant Response Teams” In Order To Accomplish The Following Objectives
Under The Supervision Of An Instant Response Team Manager Under The Guidance And Supervision Of The Senior Advisor For Investigations And The Criminal Justice Coordinator With Wide Latitude For The Use Of Judgment And Independent Decision Making, The IRT Coordinator Will Perform The Following Tasks

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and 30 semester credits toward a Master of Social Work degree or toward a graduate degree in a related field; plus, eighteen months of child protective casework experience.
